Beacon Research provides first Technical Director for the
European Fat Processors and Renderers Association (EFPRA)

Beacon Research managing director Stephen Woodgate has been appointed to the position of Technical Director of EFPRA.

His role will be to provide technical expertise to EFPRA members in developing their relationships with government and NGO’s on a wide range of issues.

He will work closely with the EFPRA Secretary-General in establishing this new and important role which will reinforce the determination of EFPRA to play its part as a vital sector of the European livestock industry.
Key issues that will be addressed, include the development of a professional relationship with the various European Union Directorates and independent authorities that relate to EFPRA members. This will include EFSA, DG-Sanco, DG-Environment, and DG-Research. Focus will also be placed on maximising the economic returns for the animal by-products handled and processed by EFPRA members as well as promoting the renewable and sustainable nature of the industry.
